BCP offers many regularly scheduled weekly rides. Follow this link to view the Weekly Ride List for more detailed information regarding these rides than the minimal description provided in the Monthly Ride Calendar below. Occasionally, ad-hoc rides are announced. These rides are sent by email to all members of the BCP email list. To join this list, click here.     Mon January 1, 2018 - Over the River and Through the Woods to the Mummer's Parade We Go

    Level D+, 9-14 mph, 14-28 miles. Meet at Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride for young, old, and new riders to Group Riding. We will ride to the front of City Hall Bleachers to watch the performances of the String Bands. It will be late afternoon and plan to return to Conshohocken by train. Tickets are $20, which you can get them at Philadelphia Visitors Center or call 215-965-7676. If you chose not to see the parade at City Hall, then you can continue on your own to the Kimmel Center to warm up and see some performances from there. Bring helmet(required), cloths for proper warmth in winter conditions, extra tube, $ for mid ride snack-rest stop, and lots of warm smiles. Rain, ice or snow on the road will cancel, but cold does not. It is optional, but you may preregister until Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 8:00 pm.

    Level B-/C+, 13.5-14.5 mph, 30-35 miles. Meet at Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA. The ride leaves at 6:30 am. The rides of darkness are back every Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm until the return of daylight savings time. Maintain your fitness level with weekly 30-35 mile rides. Strong headlights and taillights required. These are beautiful rides on low-traffic roads. No one dropped, regroup as necessary, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace on rolling to hilly terrain. Dress warmly. Extreme cold ( <20 degrees ), precipitation and/or icy roads cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.

    Level B-/C+, 13-15 mph, 45-50, +/- miles. Meet at Various starting points -- please check the daily . The ride leaves at 9:30 am. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. We'll explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Depending on the destination, starting point may be in Conshohocken, Flourtown, Jenkintown, Wayne, Valley Forge, etc. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for virtually every Friday throughout the year, with a few exceptions here & there. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.

    Sun January 7, 2018 - Sunday Afternoon (Post-Hike) Winter Ramble Ride (General description -- specific details will be posted for each Sunday)

    Level C+/B-, 13-15 mph, 30-35 miles. Meet at Bruno's, Northwestern and Germantown Aves. The ride leaves at 1:20 pm. Scenic, 30-35-ish mile loop, usually through Montgomery County or Lower Bucks, with a brief rest stop. Unless otherwise stated, this winter afternoon ride will meet most Sundays at Bruno's Diner (finishing point for many of the Sunday morning Wissahickon hikes). Instead of Bruno's, we may on occasion meet at another location in Chestnut Hill. Even if you don't join the hike in the morning, you are welcome to cycle with us on this afternoon ride! We will stop to regroup if needed, but try as much as possible to maintain 13-15mph, due to short daylight. Plan is to return before 5:00pm. Please bring LIGHTS, just in case we return in the nick of time. Please ensure that your bike is ready before start time, so that we can leave promptly. Specific details will be posted for each Sunday's Route. Scheduled for EVERY Sunday throughout the winter (for the duration of the hiking season), weather permitting, EXCEPT for the last Sunday in February. (Leader will be away cross-country skiing.) This ride will resume on the first Sunday of March. If winter weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a snow activity, e.g., cross-country skiing or snow-shoeing. As long as we keep moving throughout the winter, we will maintain our base fitness level for the return of spring cycling in mid-March. Cue sheets will be available.

OWLS (Older, Wiser, Longer, Slower) paced ride through Fairmount Park and beyond. This ride provides a longer and hillier ride to help conditioning and extend biking skills to help reach a C level. Bring helmet (required), extra tubes, $ for mid ride snack, dress appropriately for the weather, water, and plenty of smiles. No one will be dropped and walking up a hill is allowed. Ride will not be cancelled for cold, but ice, snow, rain will cancel. It is optional, but you may preregister until Friday, January 19, 2018 at 6:00 pm.

Scenic, 30-35-ish mile loop, usually through Montgomery County or Lower Bucks, with a brief rest stop. Unless otherwise stated, this winter afternoon ride will meet most Sundays at Bruno's Diner (finishing point for many of the Sunday morning Wissahickon hikes). Instead of Bruno's, we may on occasion meet at another location in Chestnut Hill. Even if you don't join the hike in the morning, you are welcome to cycle with us on this afternoon ride! We will stop to regroup if needed, but try as much as possible to maintain 13-15mph, due to short daylight. Plan is to return before 5:00pm. Please bring LIGHTS, just in case we return in the nick of time. Please ensure that your bike is ready before start time, so that we can leave promptly. Specific details will be posted for each Sunday's Route. Scheduled for EVERY Sunday throughout the winter (for the duration of the hiking season), weather permitting, EXCEPT for the last Sunday in February. (Leader will be away cross-country skiing.) This ride will resume on the first Sunday of March. If winter weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a snow activity, e.g., cross-country skiing or snow-shoeing.     Level B-/C+, 13.5-14.5 mph, 30-35 miles. Meet at Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA. The ride leaves at 6:30 am. The rides of darkness are back every Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm until the return of daylight savings time. Maintain your fitness level with weekly 30-35 mile rides. Strong headlights and taillights required. These are beautiful rides on low-traffic roads. No one dropped, regroup as necessary, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace on rolling to hilly terrain. Dress warmly. Extreme cold ( <20 degrees ), precipitation and/or icy roads cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.

Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. We'll explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Depending on the destination, starting point may be in Conshohocken, Flourtown, Jenkintown, Wayne, Valley Forge, etc. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for virtually every Friday throughout the year, with a few exceptions here & there. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot).
