After Longwood Gardens, there's a Wawa stop if needed at mile 36 on the return. This route will take us through part of Ridley Creek State Park, past Cheyney University, and some peaceful stretches along Creek Rd. Rolling to hilly terrain with total elevation gain of 3989 feet. We will stop to regroup as needed. No one dropped, but we will try to maintain 13mph average, as advertised. Please click on the route map link below to preview the route, as well as the elevation (climbing) profile. The meeting point (Rose Tree Park in Media) is accessible via the Blue Route to the US-1 Bypass. Co-Leader Welcome: if you would like to lead this route at an alternative pace, please contact LMc. Please bring LIGHTS, just in case we return in the nick of time. Please ensure that your bike is ready before start time, so that we can leave promptly. Specific details will be posted for each Sunday's Route. Scheduled for EVERY Sunday throughout the winter (for the duration of the hiking season), weather permitting, EXCEPT for the last Sunday in February. (Leader will be away cross-country skiing.) This ride will resume on the first Sunday of March. If winter weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a snow activity, e.g., cross-country skiing or snow-shoeing. As long as we keep moving throughout the winter, we will maintain our base fitness level for the return of spring cycling in mid-March. Cue sheets will be available.
