Philadelphia Weekend Weather

BCP offers recurring weekly rides. Below is a general description of the recurring weekly rides, with pace, mileage, starting time, location, and organizer. The weekly rides are also listed by date in the Daily Ride Calendar which you should check for specific ride leaders and any additional information on the ride. Information about starting locations is available on our Ride Guide page which is found under the rides menu item.

There are two different listings of the recurring weekly rides available on this page. The normal view gives a listing of the recurring weekly rides that are active for one month and you are able to move back and forth from month to month to view the weekly rides that were active in different months. Initially one is viewing the current month. The other view that is available on this page shows all the recurring weekly rides that were listed for the last year and those planned for the future.

  • Kayuh Pedalers Fall Rides

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on September 24, 2017 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Kayuh Bicycle and Cafe, 19th & W. Girard Ave at 9:00 am. Ride Level: D, Speed: 11 mph, Distance: 20-25 miles. Fall is here. Kayuh Pedalers' Rides will take in the foliage around Philly. The ride distance & destination will be decided on day of the ride & will be determined on the riders that show up. Changes to start time or destination will be updated on the calendar. BCP rules apply, that includes Helmet & Water. You must carry a spare tube. Nobody is dropped. 18 Y.O. and up. Come and enjoy a casual ride. ALL rides start at time listed! NOTE: No Helmet-NO RIDE!!!   • Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride Ride and Instructional Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from the formal entrance to the Azalea Garden at 12:00 pm. Ride Level: D. Casual introductory level ride, suited for improving group riding skills and fitness. Safety instruction provided. If noted as instructional in the listing for a specific date, the ride will also cover riding basics such as shifting, clipless pedals etc. Distance and speed will be dictated by the abilities of the group. D rides are generally 10-20 miles at a pace of 8-12 mi/hr, and the ride will regroup as necessary. Adverse weather generally cancels the ride. Helmet, bicycle in operating condition and water is required. Snacks are strongly advised.   • Sunny Sunday C Spin-Off

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on January 1, 1987 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 12:15 pm. Ride Level: C. A true C ride, which cheerfully waits to regroup. Usually 25-35 miles with a lunch or snack stop. Meet at the Italian Fountain, near the parking garage sign.   • Ride Yer Bike Tuesday

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Tuesdays starting on October 3, 2017 and is scheduled to end on October 31, 2017. The ride will depart from Upper Dublin High School at 10:00 am. Ride Level: C+, B, and B+/A-, Speed: 13.5 +/-, 15.5 +/- and 17 +/- mph, Distance: 35-50 miles. Bring yer bike and sense of adventure. Some days we'll ride familiar favorite routes, other days we'll scope out new routes. Will regroup as needed, but must be able to maintain the posted pace. Must also be willing to ride safely and obey traffic laws. Often will have a sit-down lunch stop. Check back a few days prior to the ride for an updated listing with ride details: destination, distance, terrain and whether both paces are offered.   • Conshocken Nite Lights rides are back

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Tuesdays starting on October 3, 2017 and is scheduled to end on October 31, 2017. The ride will depart from Jacobs Engineering Parking Lot at 6:00 pm. Ride Level: B, Speed: 16-18 mph, Distance: 25 +/- miles. Conshohocken night light rides are back for this fall. Meet at the parking lot across Ash Street from Jacobs Engineering. There are no bathrooms at this location. 16-18 mph for about 25 miles. Faster on the flat sections and slower on the few hills. Riders needs to be able to keep this pace. Rest stop at Lloyd Hall for bathroom and a quick snack (you need to bring your own snack). A STRONG HEADLIGHT AND TAIL LIGHT ARE REQUIRED AS SOME OF THE RIDE WILL BE AFTER DARK AND ON ROADS THAT DO NOT HAVE ANY LIGHTING. Cue sheets will not be available.   • Phoenixville Day/Night Dog Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on May 3, 2017 and is scheduled to end on October 25, 2017. The ride will depart from Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA at 6:00 pm. Ride Level: B-/C+, Speed: 13.5-14.5 mph, Distance: 30-40 miles. The dwindling daylight brings back the lights. Instead of settling for under 20 miles, these rides start in the daylight and continue in the darkness. Strong headlights and taillights required. Every Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm through the end of October, These are beautiful rides on low-traffic roads. No one dropped, regroup as necessary, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace on rolling to hilly terrain. Precipitation cancels.   • Kayuh Pedalers Evening After Work Rides.

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on September 6, 2017 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Kayuh Bicycle and Cafe, 19th and Girard Ave. at 6:30 pm. Ride Level: D, Speed: 11 mph, Distance: 10-15 miles. Rides are approximately 1 - 1.5 hours and will be done around 8pm with a coffee stop to warm up. Route varies, helmet, water and safety lights REQUIRED. Bicycle Club of Philadelphia rules apply. 18 Y.O. and up. ALL rides start at time listed. NOTE: NO HELMET OR SAFETY LIGHTS-NO RIDE!   • Friday Frolic w/Linda. This is the generic description. Specific details will be posted on daily calendar for each Friday.

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Fridays starting on December 7, 2012 and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2020. The ride will depart from Various starting points -- please check the daily at 9:30 am. Ride Level: B-/C+, Speed: 13-15 mph, Distance: 45-50, +/- miles. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. We'll explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Depending on the destination, starting point may be in Conshohocken, Flourtown, Jenkintown, Wayne, Valley Forge, etc. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for virtually every Friday throughout the year, with a few exceptions here & there. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.   • Main Line Cycles Brisk Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on October 27, 2012 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Main Line Cycles front of shop 919 Montgomery Ave at 8:05 am. Ride Level: A-, Speed: 16-17 mph, Distance: 40-55 miles. Great roads with low traffic. We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000' of climbing. Bring a snack for a brief mid-ride break. Consider the on-line routes approximate. Leave by 8:05 AM. Rain cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.   • Toss of the dice

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on June 11, 2016 and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2017. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 9:15 am. Ride Level: C+, Speed: 13-14.5 mph, Distance: 45-60 miles. Friendly C+ ride with, but not limited to, the following destinations: 1. Ambler 2. Whole Foods North Wales 3. Wegman's King of Prussia 4. Whole Foods Devon 5. Ridley Creek State Park area. BE SURE TO CHECK THE DAILY RIDE CALENDAR FOR RIDE LEADER AND DESTINATION INFORMATION. Bring money for lunch. YOU MUST CARRY A SPARE TUBE. Nobody is dropped. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.
