BCP offers recurring weekly rides. Below is a general description of the recurring weekly rides, with pace, mileage, starting time, location, and organizer. The weekly rides are also listed by date in the Daily Ride Calendar which you should check for specific ride leaders and any additional information on the ride. Information about starting locations is available on our Ride Guide page which is found under the rides menu item.

There are two different listings of the recurring weekly rides available on this page. The normal view gives a listing of the recurring weekly rides that are active for one month and you are able to move back and forth from month to month to view the weekly rides that were active in different months. Initially one is viewing the current month. The other view that is available on this page shows all the recurring weekly rides that were listed for the last year and those planned for the future.

  • Kayuh Pedalers Fall Rides

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on September 24, 2017 and is scheduled to end on December 3, 2017. The ride will depart from Kayuh Bicycle and Cafe, 19th & W. Girard Ave at 9:00 am. Ride Level: D, Speed: 11 mph, Distance: 20-25 miles. Fall is here. Kayuh Pedalers' Rides will take in the foliage around Philly. The ride distance & destination will be decided on day of the ride & will be determined on the riders that show up. Changes to start time or destination will be updated on the calendar. BCP rules apply, that includes Helmet & Water. You must carry a spare tube. Nobody is dropped. 18 Y.O. and up. Come and enjoy a casual ride. ALL rides start at time listed! NOTE: No Helmet-NO RIDE!!!   • Hike the Wissahickon

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on November 19, 2017 and is scheduled to end on March 18, 2018. The ride will depart at 9:30 am. Ride Level: hike, Distance: 6-8 miles. This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on November 19, 2017 and is scheduled to end March 18, 2018. The ride will depart from from various locations accessing the Wissahickon at 9:30 am. Ride Level: intermediate hike, Distance: 6-8 miles. BCP and SCU have a joint weekly Sunday hike in the beautiful Wissahickon Gorge of Fairmount Park from mid-November until mid-March. The hikes are mainly on trails, but the hike leader can direct you toward flat options if you need an easier or quicker route. Hiking boots or shoes are recommended. Well-behaved, leashed canine friends are welcome. The hikes generally last two and a half to three hours. The first and last hike are celebrated afterward with a party. The hikes start at different sites accessing the Wissahickon, so check the daily ride listing for details. The hikes leave promptly at the stated start time of 9:30AM.   • Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride Ride and Instructional Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from the formal entrance to the Azalea Garden at 12:00 pm. Ride Level: D. Casual introductory level ride, suited for improving group riding skills and fitness. Safety instruction provided. If noted as instructional in the listing for a specific date, the ride will also cover riding basics such as shifting, clipless pedals etc. Distance and speed will be dictated by the abilities of the group. D rides are generally 10-20 miles at a pace of 8-12 mi/hr, and the ride will regroup as necessary. Adverse weather generally cancels the ride. Helmet, bicycle in operating condition and water is required. Snacks are strongly advised.   • Sunny Sunday C Spin-Off

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on January 1, 1987 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 12:15 pm. Ride Level: C. A true C ride, which cheerfully waits to regroup. Usually 25-35 miles with a lunch or snack stop. Meet at the Italian Fountain, near the parking garage sign.   • Sunday Afternoon (Post-Hike) Winter Ramble Ride (General description -- specific details will be posted for each Sunday)

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Sundays starting on November 19, 2017 and is scheduled to end on March 11, 2018. The ride will depart from Bruno's, Northwestern and Germantown Aves at 1:20 pm. Ride Level: C+/B-, Speed: 13-15 mph, Distance: 30-35 miles. Scenic, 30-35-ish mile loop, usually through Montgomery County or Lower Bucks, with a brief rest stop. Unless otherwise stated, this winter afternoon ride will meet most Sundays at Bruno's Diner (finishing point for many of the Sunday morning Wissahickon hikes). Instead of Bruno's, we may on occasion meet at another location in Chestnut Hill. Even if you don't join the hike in the morning, you are welcome to cycle with us on this afternoon ride! We will stop to regroup if needed, but try as much as possible to maintain 13-15mph, due to short daylight. Plan is to return before 5:00pm. Please bring LIGHTS, just in case we return in the nick of time. Please ensure that your bike is ready before start time, so that we can leave promptly. Specific details will be posted for each Sunday's Route. Scheduled for EVERY Sunday throughout the winter (for the duration of the hiking season), weather permitting, EXCEPT for the last Sunday in February. (Leader will be away cross-country skiing.) This ride will resume on the first Sunday of March. If winter weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a snow activity, e.g., cross-country skiing or snow-shoeing. As long as we keep moving throughout the winter, we will maintain our base fitness level for the return of spring cycling in mid-March. Cue sheets will be available.   • Nighttime Phoenixville Dog Rides

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Wednesdays starting on November 8, 2017 and is scheduled to end on March 28, 2018. The ride will depart from Reynolds Dog Park, Longford Rd, Oaks, PA at 6:30 am. Ride Level: B-/C+, Speed: 13.5-14.5 mph, Distance: 30-35 miles. The rides of darkness are back every Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm until the return of daylight savings time. Maintain your fitness level with weekly 30-35 mile rides. Strong headlights and taillights required. These are beautiful rides on low-traffic roads. No one dropped, regroup as necessary, but please be prepared to ride the advertised pace on rolling to hilly terrain. Dress warmly. The ride will depart from Kayuh Bicycle and Cafe, 19th and Girard Ave. at 7:00 pm. . Dec 20th night ride cancelled because of a special presentation at Open Mic Night at Kayuh Bicycles and Cafe.     This weekly ride is scheduled on Fridays starting on December 7, 2012 and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2020. The ride will depart from Various starting points -- please check the daily at 9:30 am. Ride Level: B-/C+, Speed: 13-15 mph, Distance: 45-50, +/- miles. Enjoy scenic adventures by bike on most Fridays, throughout the year. We'll explore pretty, peaceful roads in suburban counties -- Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, etc. Starting points will vary, so that we can cycle through different regions. Depending on the destination, starting point may be in Conshohocken, Flourtown, Jenkintown, Wayne, Valley Forge, etc. Please check the daily calendar for details of each Friday's route -- terrain, mileage, rest stops, etc. Cue sheets and on-line route map will be provided for each ride. Scheduled for virtually every Friday throughout the year, with a few exceptions here & there. If weather conditions are not conducive to cycling, this ride may be replaced by a hike/walk (on foot). As long as we are enjoying outdoor physical exercise, and Mother Nature, in the company of friends, we'll have a memorable outing. Cue sheets will be available.   • Main Line Cycles Brisk Ride

    This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on October 27, 2012 and it is scheduled throughout the year. The ride will depart from Main Line Cycles front of shop 919 Montgomery Ave at 9:05 am. Ride Level: A-, Speed: 16-17 mph, Distance: 40-55 miles. Great roads with low traffic. We have a few routes that bring us out around or through Ridley Creek State Park. Average speed will be 16-17 mph, but note that these routes include over 4000\' of climbing. Bring a snack for a brief mid-ride break. Consider the on-line routes approximate. Leave by 9:05 AM. Rain cancels. Cue sheets will not be available.     This weekly ride is scheduled on Saturdays starting on June 11, 2016 and is scheduled to end on December 31, 2017. The ride will depart from Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum at 10:15 am. Ride Level: C+, Speed: 13-14.5 mph, Distance: 45-60 miles. Friendly C+ ride with, but not limited to, the following destinations: 1. Ambler 2. Whole Foods North Wales 3. Wegman\'s King of Prussia 4. Whole Foods Devon 5. Ridley Creek State Park area. BE SURE TO CHECK THE DAILY RIDE CALENDAR FOR RIDE LEADER AND DESTINATION INFORMATION. Bring money for lunch. YOU MUST CARRY A SPARE TUBE. Nobody is dropped. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time.
