Registration and Fee


 Please note both events are rain or shine and do not offer refunds.

 

Not a club member? Join BCP now and take advantage of reduced event registration fee. Membership dues are $15 per year when the monthly newsletter, the Quick Release, is received by e-mail and $20 per year when received by paper mail.
Note that all members of your family may join for the one dues payment.

 

Other benefits of becoming a club member include discounts at local area bike shops, invitations to special organized club events, access to a wealth of cycling information in the members-only area of the Club's web site and most important, many, many club rides for riders of all abilities, week in, week out, all year long!

 

 

Please note that the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia (BCP) is the organizer of the Scenic Schuylkill Century held on Saturday, September 13, while The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia (BCGP) is the organizer of Bike Philly held on Sunday, September 14. Member pricing for the Scenic Schuylkill Century is only available to members of BCP. The Philadelphia Cycling Weekend Pass was jointly created by BCP and BCGP to offer a discount to those wishing to participate in both organizations’ events, regardless of membership.

The Gifts

Register by August 22nd to receive a pair of quality cycling socks and a reflective safety band. Please note that each rider must pre-register by August 22nd and be present the day of the event to receive the gift; they will not be mailed.

 

 

The Start/Finish

  • Ø  Day of ride registration and check-in begins at 6:45 am at Lloyd Hall on Kelly Drive, just behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

  • Ø  All routes start and end at Lloyd Hall.

  • Ø  All routes begin with a mass start at 8:00 am (must start ride by 9:00).

  • Ø  This is a rain or shine event, no refunds will be issued.

                 

 

Directions, Parking, Accommodations

 

Directions to the start

Ø  From NJ: West on Vine Street Expressway I-676. Exit North on 22nd Street. Left onto Parkway towards Museum.

Ø  From West/North: Take I-76 East. Exit on Spring Garden Street, left on Spring Garden, circle around Art Museum towards Parkway and Kelly Drive.

Ø  From East/South: Take I-76 West, Exit onto Vine Street I-676, then first exit towards 23rd Street, continue to left on 22nd to Parkway and Museum area.

   

Parking

Ø  Parking is available on all the local streets surrounding the Art Museum Area.  Please arrive early to ensure parking near the start.

   

Take the Train

Ø  Be green and take the train to 30th Street Station (just 10 minutes from the start). It is serviced by every regional rail line in the Delaware Valley, the Frankford El and Amtrak.

Directions from 30th Street Station: Go to Market St., turn left (east into the city). Cross 29th St. and as you get on the bridge to cross the Schuylkill River and move to the sidewalk (South side). At the end of the bridge is a ramp to the trail which will take you to the registration area behind the Art Museum.

   
Accommodations

Ø  Through our partnership with The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, we are pleased to offer a reduced rate from Sept. 12-14, 2008 at Embassy Suites Center City, even if you are riding only the Scenic Schuylkill Century. Embassy Suites is located minutes from the start and finish of both the SSC and Commerce Bike Philly, and will happily accommodate both you and your bicycle. The discount is available through August 22, or until the block of rooms is sold-out. Please click here for info or to reserve a room.
