The Bicycle Club of Philadelphia (BCP), founded in 1979, is dedicated to
the encouragement of all aspects of bicycling, including touring and mountain
biking.
The purpose of the club is: to sponsor recreational cycling activities,
encourage bicycling as a transportation alternative and to promote bicyclists'
rights and safe bicycling practices. BCP is a volunteer, non-profit organization.
Dues are $15 if you get the QR newsletter by email or from the Website, $20 if you get the paper newsletter via US mail. Membership provides you with our monthly 12 page newsletter, the "Quick Release"- chock full of rides and cycling information- and also entitles you to discounts at many area bike shops!
New BCP Web Site BCP is introducing a new web site. The next few months will be a trial period for the new site. During the trial period both the new site and the old site will be available. Hanover Bike Weekend These are some of the responses from the recent event. It was obviously a success. A link to some photographs from the weekend can be found on our photo page.
The 12th Annual Scenic Schuylkill Century Thank you to the nearly 700 cyclists who braved the forecast and rode The Scenic Schuylkill Century, plus the over 100 terrific volunteers, bike shops (REI, Keswick Cycle, Bike Sport and Cadence) and rest stop providers (Cedar Grove, Evansburg, Grace Assembly Church and Valley Forge) who were instrumental to our success.
Pedal Recall: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with KéO Bicycle Pedals, announced a voluntary recall of bicycle pedals. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
