Welcome to our award winning
Scenic Schuylkill Century. Join 1,000 fellow cyclists for a picturesque
tour through some of the most beautiful and quiet roads Philadelphia
and Montgomery County have to offer. Breeze through our efficient
registration… spoil yourself to one of our four fantastic routes…
treat yourself to our fabulous breakfast at the start and our pizza bash
at the finish… stuff yourself on our homemade baked goods at our legendary
rest stops… take advantage of our renowned SAG and mechanical support…
Following last year’s ride, more than 270 people took our
on-line Survey (over 90% were either extremely or very satisfied with
their overall experience). We are using what we learned to make this
year’s ride even better, if that is possible. We also received many
great quotes, which we’ve sprinkled throughout these web pages..

Registration and Logistics
Registration online was easy and very detailed, so I knew what to expect. At the site of the event, everything was simple and clear to understand. This was my first organized bike event, and they made it easy to be a part of.
Register by August 31 and receive this year’s gift
The survey says: 93% were EXTREMELY OR VERY satisfied with registration.

Routes and Amenities
Great route. Minimal traffic, moderate hills, beautiful scenery in many stretches.
There was so much good food that I almost felt guilty not eating more.
I must have looked pretty tired the whole way. Every SAG driver that passed asked if I needed a ride.
Whether you are an avid or recreational cyclist, we have a route for you. Ride our 25 or 40 mile route, or challenge yourself with our Metric or Full Century route.
We offer breakfast at the start, five rest stops featuring cold drinks and homemade baked goods, mechanical support, and SAG wagons. To top it off, we have a pizza bash at the finish.

Philadelphia Bicycling Weekend
Gave me a chance to do a long ride and then have my family dictate the distance the next day.
So much cycling, so little time.
Can there be a better way to blow out both knees?
Maybe the Scenic Schuylkill Century is not enough cycling for you. Perhaps you want to ride one of our challenging routes on Saturday plus an easier route with the family on Sunday. Make it a Philadelphia Bicycling Weekend by also participating in the TD Bank Bike Philly ride on Sunday, September 13.
The survey says: 67% were EXTREMELY OR VERY satisfied with the Philadelphia Bicycling Weekend.
Please note that the Philadelphia Bicycling Weekend is a joint effort between two unrelated organizations. The Scenic Schuylkill Century is a Bicycle Club of Philadelphia (Philadelphia’s leading bicycling club) event, while Bike Philly is a Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia (the area’s bicycling advocacy group) event. Together, we are promoting a weekend of fun cycling in Philadelphia.

2008 CENTURY SURVEY RESULTS
The fact that you are asking for specific feedback on what you did well and how you can make things better speaks volumes for what you are trying to do with the BCP. Keep up the great work!!
In order to make the Century the best it can be, we sent out a survey to everyone who rode it, asking for feedback and suggestions. We were astounded that over 270 people responded (more than 40% of those surveyed). While the results were overwhelming positive, we are not resting on our laurels. We are drawing upon the feedback we’ve received to make the 2009 Scenic Schuylkill Century the best ever.
The survey says: 95% said they were likely to return next year.

Volunteers Needed
Overly helpful, very friendly, the kind of folks that definitely make you feel welcome, want you to have a positive experience, and act like they REALLY do care.
The friendliest group I’ve ever encountered on an organized ride.
Want to help out? This event runs on "people power" and it requires the effort of many folks to make it a success. You can even volunteer and get to ride. There are many tasks that occur prior to the day of the ride (road marking, baking) and some early in the day of the ride (registration and breakfast) that leave plenty of time to go on the ride. With our change in routes (essentially three circular routes, from rest stop to rest stop) you can even do a shift at a rest stop and have time to cycle a portion of the ride, complete with rest stops and SAG support.
The survey says: 97% were either EXTREMELY OR VERY satisfied with our volunteers.
