SSC Home Registration and Logistics Routes, Rest Stops and SAG Volunteer Opportunities
Welcome to our award winning
Scenic
Following last year’s ride, we surveyed participants. We are pleased that over
86% were either EXTREMELY OR VERY SATISFIED with their overall experience (less
than 1% were not satisfied). We are using what we learned to make this year’s
ride even better, if that is possible. We also received many great quotes,
which we’ve sprinkled throughout these web pages.

Registration and Logistics
— Registration online was easy and very detailed, so I knew what to expect. At the site of the event, everything was simple and clear to understand. This was my first organized bike event, and they made it easy to be a part of.
Register by August 31 and receive this year's gifts: a nice cue sheet holder/clip for all those club
rides and touring, and a reflective sports pack that can be used for multiple purposes (commuting,
touring, shopping, etc).

As far as rest stops go,
you guys have hands down the best food of any ride/run I have participated in.
Great job!
— Best SAG support I've
seen on a ride.
Whether you are an avid or recreational cyclist, we have a route for you. Ride our 25 or 40 mile route, or challenge yourself with our Metric or Full Century route. We made changes on all of our routes last year, some minor, some major. We were very pleased that the feedback we received was very enthusiastically positive.
We offer breakfast at the start, five rest stops featuring cold drinks and homemade baked goods, mechanical support, and SAG (support) wagons. To top it off, we have a pizza bash at the finish.

— Worked
great to combine them. Enthusiast ride on Saturday, family ride on Sunday.
Great for out-of-towners like myself.
— So much cycling, so little time.
— Can there be a better way to blow out both knees?
Maybe the Scenic Schuylkill Century is not enough cycling for you. Perhaps you want to ride one of our challenging routes on Saturday plus an easier route with the family on Sunday. Make it a Philadelphia Bicycling Weekend by also participating in the Bike Philly ride on Sunday, September 12.
Please
note that the Philadelphia Bicycling Weekend is a joint effort between two
unrelated organizations. Together, we are promoting a weekend of fun cycling in

new this year: ride for a cause
For the first time, we are
partnering with a few worthy charity organizations who will be able to use our
ride as a fundraising event. Information will be available on or about June 1,
2010.
2009 Century Survey Results
— The fact that you are asking for specific feedback on what you did well and how you can make things better speaks volumes for what you are trying to do with the BCP. Keep up the great work!!
In order to make the Century the best it can be, we send out a survey to everyone who rode it, asking for feedback and suggestions. While the results were overwhelming positive, we are not resting on our laurels. We are drawing upon the feedback we’ve received to make the 2010 Scenic Schuylkill Century the best ever.
94% surveyed in 2009 said they were likely to return this year.

Volunteers Needed
— Overly helpful, very
friendly, the kind of folks that definitely make you feel welcome, want you to
have a positive experience, and act like they REALLY do care.
— Volunteers
were awesome and very positive, which was needed when the weather was making
you question why you came out in the first place!
— The friendliest group I’ve ever encountered on an organized ride.
Want to help out? This event runs on "people power" and it requires the effort of many folks to make it a success. You can even volunteer and get to ride. There are many tasks that occur prior to the day of the ride (road marking, baking) and some early in the day of the ride (registration and breakfast) that leave plenty of time to go on the ride. With our change in routes (essentially three circular routes, from rest stop to rest stop) you can even do a shift at a rest stop and have time to cycle a portion of the ride, complete with rest stops and SAG support.
