Sat July 31, 2021 - RIDE CLOSED Early Bird Ride to Coffee in Lansdale (alternate route via Gypsy and Landis) (ad-hoc ride) .
Level B/B-: 14.5-15mph, 64 +/- miles. Meet at Italian Fountain behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 7:30 am. Assemble at 7:30. Leave at 7:35 SHARP! Ride through East Fairmount Park, East Falls, Roxborough, Mount Airy, Chestnut Hill, Wyndmoor, Ft. Washington, Ambler, Gywnyd, Lansdale, Plymouth Whitemarsh, Sherry Lake, Manayunk, etc. Many hills (approx. 2,400' elev. gain), but no killers. Will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to meet the posted pace. At mile 33 or so, after abbreviated "tour" of Lansdale, 35-minute coffee stop at Backyard Beans. Its all about the coffee! Cue sheets will not be available. Four purely optional sprint zones. Cue sheets will not be available.

Sat July 31, 2021 - RIDE CLOSED Toss of the Dice 2.0 - Doylestown - 76 miles .
Level C+: 14mph, 35-80 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 8:15 am. Various friendly rides per DAILY RIDE CALENDAR departing FROM THE PARKING ATTENDANT BOOTH at specified time and ranging 35-80 miles. We will regroup as needed, but riders are expected to ride group pace. Bring food or money for snack along the way, as well as a spare tube, tire irons and multi-tool. Check daily listing for route information. Ride may be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to departure time. Please be familiar with the Bicycle Club of Philadelphia Rider Guidelines for COVID-19 Mitigation, and bring a mask for the rest stop. Preregistration required. Sat July 31, 2021 - RIDE CLOSED Ridley Creek State Park - Once Around .
Level D: 10mph, 45 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. This is one of those "D" pace but challenging hill rides I am notoriously known for. Anytime you go west, there are hills. Rest stop at the WAWA on Sproul Rd in Broomall to buy a Shortie for lunch in the park. Once around the loop path in the Ridley Creek State Park. More hills on the way back, Rose Tree, Crum-Ridley Creek Rds. Pack a lunch or buy one at WAWA. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels. Sat July 31, 2021 - RIDE CLOSED Spring Mill to Hollywood (and a goat farm) .
Level C: 11.5-12mph, 38 miles. Meet at Spring Mill SEPTA lot beside Riverbend Cycles. The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Yes, Hollywood is in Pennsylvania. Moderate pace ride with some hills. We will regroup at hill tops and traffic signals. H2O at mile 16 and mile 27. In between we will visit the goats. Maybe Anthony will be there. No potty at the start :( Make a pit stop before you arrive. Cue sheets will not be available.

Sun August 1, 2021 - Sandy Hook Seashore Trek (ad-hoc ride).
Level B-: 14mph, 70 miles. Meet at Visitor Center of Monmouth Battlefield State Park, Route 33 Business, Manalapan, NJ. The ride leaves at 8:15 am. Picturesque adventure ride from Central NJ to Sandy Hook, a 1665-acre barrier peninsula which protrudes into the bay between NJ & NY. Sandy Hook offers a view of the Manhattan skyline, as well as 7 miles of beaches, a lighthouse, and a holly forest. Shortly before reaching the seashore, we'll stop at the Mt. Mitchell Scenic Overlook County Park, which includes a memorial to the heroes of 9-11. This county park provides a spectacular overlook of Sandy Hook Bay and the NYC skyline. The route to & from Sandy Hook will take us along the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers, as well as the Swimming River Reservoir. Beginning and ending portions of the route are flat-ish/gently rolling, with a few brisk climbs, but we will stop to regroup as needed. Total elevation gain is 2189 feet. Middle portion of the route (near and on the beach) is flat. Food stops at mile 25 and 45, + an optional Rita's Water Ice stop at mile 62, near the finish. DRIVING DIRECTIONS to the starting point (Visitor Center of Monmouth Battlefield State Park): 1) NJ Turnpike North to Exit 8/Hightstown & Freehold. 2) From Exit 8 ramp, turn right onto NJ-33 East/Franklin St. Stay on 33 East. 3) After crossing CR 527/Millhurst Rd, NJ-33 will split into Business and Expressway. Take the right-lane exit for 33 Business, then bear right at bottom of ramp for 33 Bus East. Look for sign for Monmouth Battlefield Visitor Center. Turn left into Visitor Center entrance. Parking lot is at the end of a long driveway. Please allow at least 75 mins driving time from Phila. The map link provided below (you can zoom in) will show the start/finish point, the whole route, and the elevation profile. WEATHER UPDATES will be based on the forecast for Manalapan, NJ, not Phila. Sun August 1, 2021 - Pottstown and Harleysville (with Skippack Trail).
Level B-: 12-12.5mph, 63 miles. Meet at Valley Forge National Park - Betzwood Picnic Area (by bathrooms). The ride leaves at 9:00 am. This is about revision 6 of my first route. Fair warning: 3850 feet of climbing. Translation: VERY SCENIC :) Bring the camera. It will include portions of the old SSC from about 18 years ago. If anyone wants to, we can take a peek at the bottom of a 22% hill. We will see almost 4 miles of the Skippack Trail. First and last 4 miles are on the Schuylkill Trail. H2O #1 at WAWA deluxe in Pottstown - mile 24, H2O #2 at Hennings Market in Harleysville - mile 44. We will not be racing! I am looking for a rolling average of 12-ish mph. That said... Sun August 1, 2021 - Sunday Funday .
Level B/B-: 15-15.5mph. Meet at Cosmic Cafe, Lloyd Hall, # 1 Boathouse Row, Kelly Dr, East Fairmount Park . The ride leaves at 9:00 am. Relaxed pace - 70 miles total for only 3,200 ft! (Sounds too good to be true, but it's true!) Will stop for coffee/tea at Gryphon Cafe in West Chester (40 miles) to fuel up for the return trip. For those that reside around University city, you have the option to peal off from Springfield Ave, while the rest heads back into CC. Rain cancels. Sun August 1, 2021 - Sunny Sunday Afternoon D Ride .
Level D: 10mph, 15/20 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:00 pm. Come join us on a leasurely, novice ride to many interesting city places. There will be instructions on rules of the road and effectively cycling techniques. If KYW is reporting rain outside their studio one hour prior to start, ride cancels. Sun August 1, 2021 - C Spin-off.
Level C: 12mph, 30-35 miles. Meet at Azalea Garden's formal entrance, behind the Art Museum. The ride leaves at 12:15 pm. One of Ardmore rides, depending on forecast. True C ride which cheerfully waits to regroup. Some climbing required. No ride if rain at start or 50 percent or more chance of rain during the ride. Pre-registration is not required but greatly preferred. It is optional, but you may preregister until Sunday, August 1, 2021 at 11:00 am.
